Damien has lived all his life thinking that his ghosts could be the only thing in the world that could destroy him. But that changed the day he lost Nikki.
‘I can handle anything except the thought of losing you.’
This book starts exactly where Claim Me left off: in Germany waiting for the trial. And although Damien has something that could make all this go away, he won’t do it, and even though Nikki can’t understand that, she respects his decision. But that’s not all because Damien and Nikki will have to go through hell in order to find their happily ever after.
‘At the end of the day, it’s just you and me. We make our own reality, Nikki. And no one can take it from us.’
The storyline of this book just surprised the hell out of me. When I thought that all the problems and ghosts were covered, the author surprised me with a turn that I didn’t see coming. It really is a captivating book!
In this book, they get kinkier and explore their limits sexually: there’s strip poker, a sexual encounter in an airplane, in the limo, against a window. And although the other two books are equally sexual, I think this was for sure the sexiest one. But, while we all love a sexy-alpha, let’s not forget that Damien is very protective of Nikki and his protectiveness was a big part of this book.
“Everything I’ve built? All my billions? They have no value compared to you.”
But, good news, they get the happily ever after that they deserve and I can’t wait to see more of that in Take Me.
