Review: Until there was us by Samantha Chase

Until There Was Us (Montgomery Brothers) by [Chase, Samantha]

★★★★

Alex and Megan shared a passionate weekend two years ago, but things didn’t work out at the time: long working hours and long distance were more than they could take.
Since then, they never saw each other or so much as exchanged texts. But they never stopped thinking about the unforgettable weekend that brought them together in the first place.
Now, Megan has moved to Portland, Alex’s hometown, to work with her cousins for the family’s business crossing their paths once again.

So, obviously, this is a second chance romance. Two years ago Megan’s mind was always on her work. She lived for her job and didn’t have the time for a relationship with Alex. Or with anyone else for that matter. But now things are different because she’s working with her family who won’t let her work until the wee hours.

Besides that, Alex is persistent. He’s confident that what they shared was special so he’s trying his hardest to show her that there’s more to life than work. So they start off by being friends: hiking together, driving around so Megan can meet her new town… they basically do everything they can to spend time together, as friends!

And we all know where that leads them! This a sweet romance rather than a steamy one. In the beginning, the storyline progressed really slowly thanks to Alex’s efforts that would go on for way too long in my opinion but, overall,  I would describe this book as a light and cozy read that you can enjoy in two days time!

Although the book features the entire cast of the Montgomery Brothers Series, this book can be read as a standalone.
